Search and Rescue Radar Transponder SART TBR-600
The TBR-600 is a search and rescue radar transponder that conforms to the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS).
In the unlikely event of a sea disaster, the TBR-600 can be loaded into a liferaft or lifeboat quickly and easily. Signal reception begins when the switch block at the bottom of the unit is removed.
The TBR-600 automatically transmits a response signal when a radar signal in the 9 GHz band is received from a ship or aircraft. The signal transmitted from the SART appears on the radar screen of the vessels engaged in the search operation as a 12 dot stream that indicates the position and bearing of the craft in distress. A blinking red LED at the bottom of the unit would signal survivors of the approach of rescue vessels.
The LED blinks faster as the rescue vessel closes and lights continuously when the vessel is very close to the survivor.
